How to add Add-Ins in Excel

Excel application is compatible with other external tools. Thus the users can easily enjoy using other tools that are not found in Excel. By default, Excel does not have these tools in it. Therefore, the user needs to download and install the add-ins. This article will guide the user on the ways and workarounds of adding an add-in tool to your Excel application.

How to download Add-Ins Tool

A] Using the developer Tab

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Open the Excel application.

2. Click on the Developer tab on the toolbar, and locate the Add-ins section.

3. Under this section, click the Add-ins button to open the Office Add-Ins dialogue box.

4. In the Dialogue box, click the Store tab. In the Category section, search for the category you want to download your tool from. Alternatively, you can use the Search box to search for the tool you need.

5. Locate the tool you wish to download and click the Add button on the right of the app’s name.

B] Using the Insert Tab

Steps:

1. Open the Excel application.

2. Click on the Insert tab on the toolbar, and locate the Add-ins section.

3. Under this section, click the My Add-ins button to open the Office Add-Ins dialogue box.

4. In the Dialogue box, click the Store tab. In the Category section, search for the category you want to download your tool from. Alternatively, you can use the Search box to search for the tool you need.

5. Locate the tool you wish to download and click the Add button.

C] Using the Store Button

Steps:

1. Open the Excel application.

2. Click on the Insert tab on the toolbar, and locate the Add-ins section.

3. Under this section, click the Store button to open the Office Add-Ins dialogue box.

4. In the Dialogue box, click the Store tab. In the Category section, search for the category you want to download your tool from. Alternatively, you can use the Search box to search for the tool you need.

5. Locate the tool you wish to download and click the Add button.

To Remove Add-ins Tools

A] Using the Excel Add-Ins Tool

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Open the Excel application.

2. Click on the Developer tab on the toolbar, and locate the Add-ins section.

3. Under this section, click the Excel Add-ins button to open the Add-Ins dialogue box.

4. In the Dialogue box, uncheck the add-ins tool you want to deactivate. Then, click the OK button.

B] Using the Word Option Tool.

Steps:

1. Open the Excel application.

2. Click on the File tab on the toolbar, and on the file screen, click the Options button.

3. Click the Add-ins button on the left pane in the Word Options dialogue box. Then, in the Manage section, choose the COM add-ins option from the drop-down menu and click the Go button.

4. In the COM add-ins box, select the add-in you need to remove and click the Remove button.
