How to insert a picture into a single cell in Excel

Is it possible to insert a picture into a single cell in Excel? Yes, you can comfortably insert a picture into any cell of your worksheet. Sometimes, you may be required to have pictures or logos aligning with the dataset in other rows. Therefore, you may be forced to insert the pictures into cells. In addition, Excel cells are responsive, and thus you can resize them to provide space for your picture. Similarly, you can resize and adjust the size of the pictures to fit in the selected cells.

To Insert pictures into cells

Below are the workarounds to follow to do so:

1. Open the Excel application.

2. Open the worksheet containing the dataset you need to add pictures.

3. Locate the cell you need to add the picture to. Resize the cell and make it bigger to accommodate the picture.

4. Click the Insert tab on the Ribbon, and locate the Illustrations section. Under this section, click the Pictures button.

5. On clicking, an Insert Picture dialogue box will open. Locate the picture you need to insert in the selected cell and click on it. Then, click on the Insert button to add the image to your worksheet.

6. Resize the image to fit in the selected cell. To resize the picture, double-click on the added picture and click the Format tab on the Ribbon. Use the Height and Width button in the Size section to resize the picture.

7. Once you’ve resized the image, right-click on the picture and select the Format Picture option. A format Picture pane will open on the right side of the screen.

8. From the pane, click the Size & Properties icon. Then, click the Properties drop-down menu.

9. Toggle on the “Move and Size with cells” button in the Properties menu. That is all you need to do.

How to lock image in the cell

Steps to follow:

1. Once you’ve added the image in the cell, right-click on the picture and select the Format Picture option. A format Picture pane will open on the right side of the screen.

2. From the pane, click the Size & Properties icon. Then, click the Properties drop-down menu.

3. In the Properties menu, check the Locked checkbox. That is all you need to do.

Inserting Online Pictures into a cell

Excel allows users to download and use online pictures in their worksheets. However, using this method, your computer must be connected to the internet.

Steps:
